Pesticides in France: local residents’ associations denounce the suspension of the Écophyto plan

Six associations of local residents living near agro-industrial facilities lament being the “collateral victims” of the announced suspension by the government of the Écophyto plan, which is supposed to progressively reduce the use of pesticides, as stated in a tribune sent to AFP. In this text, the contributing associations declare that they are not informed before spraying: “If we are not at home, we do not know that the laundry, children’s toys, and the fruits and vegetables we grow are affected. The poison control center advises us to clean everything: fruits and vegetables, tables and garden chairs, toys.”
