A federal appeals court in the United States rejected on Tuesday, February 6, Donald Trump’s request for criminal immunity, reopening the way for his trial in Washington, where he is accused of unlawfully attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election. “We have weighed the claimed interest by former President Trump in immunity against the vital public interest in allowing this proceeding to continue,” wrote the three judges of the appeals court in their decision confirming the one issued in the first instance in December.
